What Is Pastel Nagomi Art:

Pastel Nagomi Art is a form of healing art founded in Japan, which uses pastel powders to create transparent, gentle, warm and heart-touching paintings. It has a therapeutic nature of inducing peace, harmony and hope.

The magic is in the process: soothing, relaxing and calming. You get to connect with your emotions and feelings, as well as physically through fingers. Whether you are a 6 year old boy or a 100 year old grandma, anyone is able to create beautiful pastel artwork without prior art skills!

Course Content:

  • Understanding basic Pastel Nagomi Art tools and their functionalities

  • Hands-on learning of various Pastel painting skills and techniques

  • Each course will be assigned to a theme. Themes include (but not limited to) different kinds of sceneries, seasons, holidays, animals, emotions, aromas, greetings, hope and spirituality

  • Students will create at least 1 painting per course

Current Course Type (mixed ages):

  • Adults (including teenagers and young adults)

  • Kids 4 years old and up. parents/guardians must accompany their child/children in the classroom

Courses will be held in a non-profit organization called the Taiwan Center of Greater Los Angeles: 3001 Walnut Grove Ave. Rosemead, CA 91770. It’s a comfortable place with friendly people, spacious classrooms, waiting areas, restrooms and a free parking lot.
