Ivy Yang studied at the School of Visual Arts in New York and earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts (B.F.A.) at Taipei National University of the Arts in Taiwan. She also received her Master of Arts (M.A.) in Fine Arts from California State University at Fullerton.
During her graduate studies, she worked primarily in mixed media to create three-dimensional installations. As an abstract thinker and a visual feeler, she finds meanings and connections through the process of constructing and deconstructing, as well as adding unexpected elements to expected objects.
She is a true introvert, vivid dreamer and a quiet adventurer. As a professor once said to her, "You have a little kid's state of mind with an adult thinking."
She believes being an artist is not merely a life choice, but also your way of living.
She was born in a beautiful subtropical island called Taiwan and raised in Canada and the United States.
She is currently living with her Shiba Inu in Los Angeles, California.
